BCSO_LogoBrown County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the missing man whose pickup truck was swept off the roadway from flood waters Wednesday at CR 105 has been identified as a 62-year-old disabled veteran from Coleman.

BCSO Captain Vance Hill stated that the man’s name is not yet being released.

Four BCSO deputies and two Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens are still searching the water, according to Hill.  Local firemen and the Citizen’s Emergency Response Team (CERT) assisted in a ground search.

The search initially began around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday and lasted until 8:30 p.m. when search crews were called to rescue of a family of six whose home near Thrifty was surrounded by rising water.   Search crews resumed around 7:30 a.m. Thursday and will continue until dark unless search crews tire out, according to Hill.
