Minerva Fuentes Serrato was born on August 3, 1949 to Hilario & Alicia Fuentes in Rio Grande City, TX.

In 1974 she met Esteban Serrato, in Fredericksburg, TX while working at the same company. They were married on December 17, 1975 in Fredericksburg & soon welcomed their first daughter, Maribelle in 1977. Later that year, they moved to Dallas, TX, & in 1981 they welcomed their second daughter, Mary Lou. Minerva was employed at Quaker Oats Company as a machine operator. In 1985, they welcomed their third daughter, Marisela.

Minerva accepted the Lord & became a Christian in 1987. Through her prayers & perseverance, her husband finally accepted the Lord in 1989. She then retired in 1990 & they decided to move out of the big city, making Bangs, TX their new home. She was a member of the New Testament Holiness Church. Together they worked & traveled on many missionary trips, preaching God’s word. She was dedicated to helping her husband in his ministry.

Minerva loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed shopping, traveling & gardening. She loved her beautiful rose bushes, tending to her vegetable garden & loved to enjoy the fruit from her fruit trees. She also loved to cook, & was known for her homemade flour tortillas & famous beef enchiladas.

But the most rewarding thing for her was being Mom & Grandma. She loved spending time with her daughters, but most importantly spending time with her seven grandchildren. From teaching them silly songs & dances to making flour tortillas in the kitchen. They always brightened up her days & brought out that priceless smile we will miss so much. A kiss and a hug meant the world to her, they were her pride & joy.

She was married to Esteban for 41 wonderful & unforgettable years. Together they shared & created many beautiful memories together. Memories that will always be treasured & never forgotten. Her love for her husband & family was everlasting. She holds a special place in all our hearts…a PRICELESS treasure. Jesus Christ called her home to heaven on January 27, 2017.

She leaves to mourn her husband Esteban; her three daughters, Maribelle Solis, Mary Lou Herrera, & Marisela Serrato. Seven grandchildren, Leslie, Jacob, & Rachel Solis; and David, Daniel, Nathaniel & Emily Herrera. She also leaves behind one sister & five brothers and numerous relatives.
