Howard Payne University football coach Roger Geise announced Thursday the hiring of Jacksboro assistant coach Randy Miller as the Yellow Jackets offensive line coach.
Randy Miller for the past two seasons has been an assistant football coach at Jacksboro High School where he was in charge of blocking schemes for the running game as well as pass protections. He also served as the sponsor for the Jacksboro Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
“Coach Miller is a great addition to the Howard Payne football staff and a great fit for what HPU is about,” said head coach Roger Geise. “I am very pleased to have him on the Yellow Jacket football staff.”
Before Jacksboro, Miller spent one year as an assistant at Gunter high school. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 2006 with a degree in Exercise Sport Science. He did play two seasons of college football at Southeastern Oklahoma State before transferring to Texas Tech. Miller also played two seasons of semi-pro football for the McKinney Hawks while attending Texas Tech.
“I am excited to be here and been granted this great opportunity for my family,” said Randy Miller. “I hope I can be the missing piece of the puzzle to the great things that are going on here at HPU.”
Randy is a 2000 graduate of Gunter high school and has been married to Jacqueline for 3 years. They have one child, Kailyn, and are expecting their second in July. He will begin his duties at Howard Payne immediately.
