Milledge Howard King, age 66, of Brownwood passed away at his residents with his family by his side Monday May 20, 2013.
Services for Milledge will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday May 22, 2013 at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Ryan Smithey officiating, interment will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday May 23, 2013 at Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening at Blaylock Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
Milledge was born on March 18, 1947 in Mineral Wells to Bill and Winifred King. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1964 and served 3 tours in Vietnam. He married his loving wife Ginger Barnum King of 23 years in 1989 and they had five kids. In 1990 they moved to Brownwood where he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a Mailman. Milledge have many hobbies he enjoyed including traveling, reading western books, and he loved reading the Bible.
Milledge leaves behind his wife Ginger King; sons Billy Rodgers and wife Sandra of Coleman, Vyron Funderburk and wife Becky of Rising Star, John Rodgers of Bosier City, LA.; daughters Diana Malmay and husband Roy of Marthaville, LA, Rita Wilson and husband Larry of Rising Star; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Lynn Rose James and husband of Irving, Gertrude King Dawson and husband Thurman Eugene Dawson Jr. of Springtown; and brother Homer Pittman Jr. of Waco.
He is preceded in death by his biological father Bill King, mother Winifred Cox King, and adoptive father Homer Pittman Sr.
He was loved by many and will be missed greatly by them; there will be a void in their lives without him.
