THANK YOU CENTRAL TEXAS!! We would like to thank everyone who has helped the Military and Family Support Group show support for our Military again this year. The area schools who have made cards, Latch Key Program, Boys & Girls Club, Heart of Texas Girl Scouts, Churches, American Legion Post 308, VFW Post 3278 & Ladies Auxilary and numerous others too numerous to name who gave because they love and support our Military.
This year with the help of our community we distributed 244 boxes of support to 181 Military; boxes of snacks for the 111th Engineer Battalion, Texas Army National Guard; 82 bags of support for our Veterans in local nursing homes; bags of items for homeless Veterans; items for the VA Clinic and VA Hospital. This could not have been accomplished without our community’s support by making monetary donations, donating items, cards of support, volunteering to pack and delivery boxes.
We go through the families whenever possible so they can also see and benefit from the support. One mom contacted me and asked it was normal to cry when she saw what our Community had done for her son and yes it is normal. Our Military do not expect the support but they and their families deeply appreciate it.
Thank you to all who have helped our Military know that Americans are praying and supporting them at home. Please continue to keep our Military, their Families, our leaders and America in your prayers. Take a moment to go by the Brown County Courthouse and look at the ‘Wall of Heroes”. You might see someone you know who is protecting the freedoms we enjoy.
