Recently I learned that Mike Holder plans to run for Justice of the Peace for Brown County.  I have known Mike since 1988, when I was hired by the Lubbock County District Attorney’s office as a ‘wet behind the ears’ attorney.  Mike was then a deputy with the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department, Civil Division.

He and I have become close friends through the years; most importantly, I respect his advice and opinion, even when we disagree.  His honor and integrity in dealing with all persons equally and fairly remains ingrained in his character.

Mike was known for researching Texas statutes before serving legal process to avoid any semblance of impropriety and to assure the rights of plaintiffs, defendants and law enforcement were protected.   A quality magnified and required for the judiciary to uphold fair and impartial justice.

The citizens of Brown County are fortunate to have such a willing, highly credentialed candidate for public office.  I just want you to know I am proud to call Mike Holder my friend.
