A graveside funeral service for Mike Allen, age 63, of Lake Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the Bangs Cemetery. Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mike passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 after a brave battle with cancer.
Michael Floyd Allen was born on August 23, 1953 in Amarillo to the late Anna and J.D. Allen. He was adopted and raised by his late Aunt and Uncle Charlie and Ethel Allen. On April 9, 1972, he married his best friend and love of his life Donna Carriger.
Mike was a longtime concrete contractor. Mike was the strongest, bravest, most good hearted, unselfish person you could ever know. He loved going to swap meets, especially Pate’s, to hunt for that special treasure.
Mike is survived by Donna, his loving wife for over 45 years, “mom Norma Bly”; 6 brothers, David Allen, Bobby Allen and wife Paula, Wesley Allen and wife Rhonda, “Everal Bly and wife Joy, Richie Bly and wife Heather, and Vaughan Walker and wife Michele” two sisters, Amanda McCoy and “Marisa Craddock and husband Danny.” Also numerous nieces and nephews and his special little friend, his pootie poo Tripper Lee.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Charles, Jimmy and George Allen and “Joey Carriger.”
