Emergency responders were kept active Thursday afternoon as vehicle accidents occurred in Early and Brownwood causing damage to the vehicles and only minor injuries to two women.

In Early, a two-vehicle accident just after 3:00pm in the 900 block of Early Blvd damaged vehicles, but the drivers were able to walk away from the scene.

An elderly woman was driving a Buick LeSabre onto Early Blvd from the Early Professional Plaza, when she collided with a Chevy S-10 in the center lane of traffic.

According to the driver of the S-10, he was in the center lane about to pull into northbound traffic when the Buick struck him and his vehicle spun into the northbound lanes of traffic.  The Buick had front-end damage and the S-10 had damage to the passenger side.

No injuries were reported on scene and no transports were necessary.

Early Police Department, Early Volunteer Fire Department and Guardian EMS responded to the accident scene.

In another unrelated accident shortly after 4:00pm, an elderly woman traveling southeast on 11th Street ran a stop sign at Avenue K and collided with a van which was traveling northeast on Avenue K, according to witnesses and police on scene.   The Aveo came to a stop in the yard of a residence in the 1900 block of 11th Street.

Both drivers were sent to the hospital for evaluation of their injuries.   Both vehicles sustained damage and were not able to be driven away from the scene.  The Aveo was impacted on the passenger door with damage to the front wheel, and the van had front-end damage.
