Michael Wayne Chandler, age 53, of Coleman died Saturday morning at the Abilene Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday in the Allcorn Funeral Chapel with an additional service to be held at 2 PM Thursday in the Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa. Visitation will be held in Coleman from 6 – 7 PM on Monday at the funeral home and from 6 – 7 PM on Wednesday in Odessa. His body will be cremated following the services under the direction of Allcorn Funeral & Cremation Care.
He was born December 1, 1960 in Hollandale, Mississippi, the son of the late Albert and Pearlie Hollis Chandler. He worked as a derrick hand in the oil field industry for many years and had lived in Coleman for the past 15 years.
He is survived by 5 daughters including Amanda McKinley and husband Jayton of Coleman; 1 Step-son, Allen Fitzwater of West Virginia; his companion, Dorothy Chandler of Coleman; several grandchildren including Lexi McKinley and Leah McKinley; 3 sisters – Shirley Scantling and husband Jim Bo of Odessa, Rosie Stairs and husband Mark of Midland, and JoAnn McLennon; 3 brothers – Bud Chandler of Odessa, Waynie Chandler of Odessa, and Eddie Ray Hamlin of Odessa; and his very special friends, Mike and Vicky Hall of Coleman.He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters Rita Adams and Betty Jo Chandler; a brother, Lewis Chandler and 2 brother-in-laws, Lacy and Tommy. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
