Michael Keith Swindler, age 56 of Brownwood died Tuesday at his home following a sudden illness.

Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the Davis Morris Funeral Chapel with Tim Scaggs, Bill Allen, Rick Cavitt, and Clyde Morgan officiating.  His body will be cremated following the services and interred at the Jenkins Springs Cemetery

He was born December 14, 1961 in Merkel, Texas, the son of the late Bill and Eddie Ruth Swindler.  Following graduation from high school, Michael attended Howard Payne University and Angelo State University.  He worked for several local businesses including Brownwood Regional Medical Center and had most recently been employed at the local Goodwill Industries and at The Pizza Company.  He was also very proud to have owned his own business working in the landscaping and carpentry industries.  He enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, working with wood, playing guitar and singing.  Michael loved the outdoors and lived in Colorado for several years before moving back to Brownwood.  He was a member of the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by a sister, Teresa Judge of Kyle; nephews, Taylor Franklin of Hanford, California , Austin Franklin of Fort Worth, Jon Bradley Freese of Austin and Brian Freese of Flint, Michigan; nieces, Cassandra Harmon of Ft. Worth and Elizabeth Judge of Kyle.  Several great nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, a sister, Diane Franklin and her husband Fred Franklin.
