After winning a long battle with cancer, Melody Gay Martin Stansell, age 54 of Austin and formerly of Brownwood passed away at Christopher House in Austin on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 with her daughter by her side.
Melody Gay Martin was born February 28, 1958 to the late John H. and Patricia Louise (Truitt) Martin in Brownwood, Texas. She was a licensed vocational nurse until her illness, and she was dearly loved by all who were blessed to have known her.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Brandy and husband, John Wells of Austin; sisters and brothers, Sherry and Jeff Mathers of Brownwood; John and Sandi Martin of Brownwood and George and Terry Martin of Big Springs; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.She is preceded in death by her parents John and Pat Martin; and sister, Nancy Allen.
Per her wishes, Melody will be cremated under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home & Cremations with no services planned.
