Melinda Mozzell Busby Hunt, 38, of Sidney, passed away Tuesday July 1, 2014, in Temple, TX. Funeral services, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Comanche, will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 5th at the Heartland Chapel. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday. Interment will follow at the Pendergrass Cemetery.
Melinda was born September 20, 1975, in Altus, OK, to George and Peggy (Maheu) Busby. She attended and graduated from Comanche High School. Melinda worked for a time at Partners as manager in Comanche before quitting to become a home maker. She married Joseph Hunt in 1992 at Sidney Baptist Church, where she was a member. Joseph enjoyed driving dirt track race cars and spent many nights watching him at the 281 Race Track in Stephenville; Melinda got to drive in ladies Powder Puff races as well. Her primary enjoyment came from being a Mom, watching her kids play sports, grow, and even get into racing. In addition to being a loving wife to her husband Joseph, she was a loving mother to her children and the many others that looked up to her as a Mother. Melinda enjoyed cooking and was really great at it.
Melinda is survived by her husband of 24 years, Joseph; sons, Kyle, Christian, and Karson; brothers, Albert Busby and Kevin Evans; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Peggy Busby.
