The Center for Life Resources, 408 Mulberry Street, is dedicating their Medical Center and renaming it in honor of Doctor Matthew Philip Houseal.
Doctor Houseal, formerly a psychiatrist with the Center and a Major in the United States Army Reserve, gave his life on May 11, 2009, while helping those who needed him in war-torn Iraq. He was highly regarded by patients and colleagues. He was a physician known for his brilliance, his compassion and his generosity, but most especially for his humility.
The dedication ceremony will be Monday, October 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in front of the Center. An honor guard composed of members of the Pecan Valley Detachment of the Marine Corps League and American Legion Post 196 will attend to present military honors. Doctor Houseal’s family will attend the ceremony, and a plaque honoring Doctor Houseal will be unveiled in the Medical Clinic Office.
The Center invites the public to attend and honor the fallen hero who gave so much to our community.
