Press Release – Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is pleased to announce it has been selected to provide inmate programming at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) Havins Unit in Brownwood. MTC will provide an intensive therapeutic community substance abuse treatment program that will give offenders the tools needed to manage their addictions as they transition back into their communities.

“We are grateful to broaden our partnership with TDCJ,” said Mike Bell, MTC vice president for the Texas region. “MTC has helped hundreds of thousands of individuals rehabilitate their lives through effective programming over the last 30 years. We look forward to expanding our reach in Texas to provide individuals with life-changing programs. Our primary goal is to prepare incarcerated men and women to become contributing members of society after release.”

The Havins Unit serves 576 male offenders. The contract will be for eight years with a two-year base and three, two-year options.

“We have a tremendous partnership with TDCJ,” said Mike Bell. “We appreciate the opportunity to help Texas offenders get the education and rehabilitation programs they need to improve their lives. Our goal is to reduce recidivism by providing programs with the greatest impact.”
