Maxine Wilma Dougherty, 98, of Early, passed away Friday, January 9 at a local hospital. Funeral services have been set for 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 12 at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, January 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Eastlawn Cemetery.
Maxine was born January 25, 1916 in Kingsville, Texas to the late William & Gladys Henderson. She retired from JC Penny’s and was a member of the Early First Baptist Church.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands; JW Dupree, Sr. & Edwin Dougherty. One brother; Frank Henderson. Two grandchildren; Kelly Smith & Pamela Coswell.
She is survived by one daughter; Joann Wilma Dupree King of Copperas Cove, son; JW Dupree ,Jr. & wife Dorothy of Early. Grandchildren; Chad Dupree, William King, Rusty King & LaDonna Cleveland.
