Maxine “Chimi” Mascorro, age 80, of Brownwood passed away Monday, April 25, 2016, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Services for Maxine will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Margarito Barboza officiating; burial will follow at Jenkins Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
Maxine “Chimi” was born to Maximiliano and Gregoria (Hernandez) Reyes on December 23, 1935, in Mexico. “Chimi” married the love of her life, Jesus “Chuy” Mascorro in November of 1950. They had lived in Brownwood since 1980. “Chimi” loved cooking for her family and friends; she enjoyed family gatherings. She loved visiting and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. “Chimi” loved the Lord, she attended Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana.“Chimi” is survived by her son, Efrain Mascorro and wife Antonia; daughters, Ada Lopez and husband Armando, Eva Roldan, Dalila Mascorro, Diana Mendoza and husband Reymundo all of Brownwood; granddaughter raised like a daughter, Christina Villarreal; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Abel Delgado of El Paso. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus “Chuy” Mascorro; parents, Maximiliano and Gregoria Reyes; sister, Mercedes Hernandez; 3 sons, Pete, Sal, and Joel Mascorro; grandson, Peter Sal Mascorro; and great-granddaughter, Journey Chairez.
