Funeral services for James Matthew “Matt” Cole, age 44, of Brownwood, will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Brownwood. Burial will take place at 11:00 AM in Eastlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.

Matt was born in Brownwood on September 23, 1971 to Jim and Marianna (Miller) Cole. He attended Brownwood schools and graduated from Brownwood High School in the Class of 1990. Matt went on to work for Matthews Distributing for 17 years and 3 years for Brasher & Co. He worked for Ingram Concrete as a driver for the past 3 years. Matt was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church, where he was baptized in the 3rd grade. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts, Troop 14, Comanche Trail Council, known today as the Texas Trail Council in Brownwood as a young man.
Matt is survived by his mother, Marianna Snyder and husband Forrest of Brownwood; a brother, Samuel Cole of Bangs and his children, James Cole of San Diego and Sheyanne Cole of Brownwood; two aunts, Terry Heriksen and husband Mogens and Patricia Treat and husband Jay, an uncle, Mike Miller and wife Kathy of Temple, ten cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Cole in 1990, maternal grandparents, Nash & Mildred Miller and paternal grandparents, Tom and Yetive Cole.
