Mary Lois “Moneyhun” Glass, age 88, of Brownwood died Friday morning at Redstone Park Assisted Living Center in Brownwood.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Skaggs, pastor of Coggin Ave. Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early. Visitation will be held from 6 -8 Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born October 5, 1924 in Coleman, the daughter of the late Emmett and Jeanette Hubbard Moneyhun. She attended school at Crews, Texas and later married E. D. Glass in Brownwood on April 12, 1947. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2001. She had been a resident of Brownwood since 1945 and was formerly of Coleman. She and her husband owned and operated a Texaco truck stop and she operated the Quick Lunch diner. She was a former member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and was a member of the line dance group there. She also was a member of the Pythian Sisters. Her favorite hobby was visiting with friends and meeting new people.

She is survived by nephews, John Fletcher and wife Donna of Alice, Texas, Glen Fletcher and wife Loretta of Austin, and George “Buddy” McCorkle and wife Sandy of Brownwood

Nieces, Nancy Neely and husband Bud of Tempe, Arizona, Bobbe Lou Bain and husband Michael of Brownwood, Betty Jo Larson of Brownwood and Sandy Callender of San Antonio

Great nieces, Amber Dahel of Brownwood and Melissa Fletcher of Austin

Special friends, Rhonda Carroll and Lisa Cobb

She was preceded in death by her husband, special friend, Merriel Carroll, sister, Johnnie Abernathy, Brothers, Roy and Curtis Moneyhun, Niece, Patsy McCorkle and her beloved pet poodle, Angel.
