Graveside services for Mary “Drue” Drucella Whitlock, age 64, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Zephyr Cemetery with Reverend Benny Allcorn officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home & Cremations. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She passed away December 24, at Harris Southwest Hospital in Ft. Worth.
Drue was born December 11, 1946 in Lampasas, Texas, the daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Lizzie Mae (Chappell) Webb. She married Don Whitlock in San Angelo, Texas on January 24, 1970, where they lived until moving to Brownwood 35 years ago. She was a member of First Baptist Church Lake Brownwood.
Survivors her husband, Don Whitlock, of Brownwood; children, Shawna and Joey Sherrod of Zephyr and Carrie and Billy Mobley of Brownwood; grandchildren, Shaylene Loyd, Chasity Cortner, Cassandra Cortner, James Sherrod, William Mobley and Quentin Mobley; great grandchildren, Blake and Austin Loyd; brothers, Ralph Webb of Brownwood; Alton Webb of San Angelo and David Webb of Wichita Falls; sister, Brenda Alexander of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Drue is preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Dixie Woods, Florene Webb and Sue Lockhart.
