Mary Call, age 84, of Brownwood passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Brownwood First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery.
Mary was born September 14, 1925, in Brownwood, TX, to Burton and Josephine Melane. She loved God, family, and her church, Brownwood First Baptist of which she was a lifelong member. Mary was active in the local community participating in the Lake Brownwood Lion’s Club, The Eastern Star, as well as many other charitable organizations. She was a very loving and giving woman always looking to extend a hand to anyone in need. One of Mary’s favorite pastimes was playing Bingo on Saturdays. She enjoyed her work and the friends she made at Home Depot where she was affectionately known as “Miss Mary”.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husbands Horace Chrisman and R.E. Call.
Survivors include her sons Nicky Chrisman and wife Debbie of Llano, TX, and Danny Chrisman; her brother Harold S. Melane and wife Shirley, her sister Shirley Melane Smith of Arlington, her two grandchildren Lisa and Andrea, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
