Memorial services for Marvin Bill “Bubba” Denton Jr. will be held March 5, at 2 pm in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jason Studdard officiating. Interment will be held in Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday, March 04, at the funeral home.
Mr. Denton passed from this life on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at his home in Early.
Marvin Bill Denton Jr. was born on April 27, 1951, in Brownwood Texas to Marvin Bill “Red” Denton and Tobie Jo “MaMaw” Fuller Denton. He was a lifetime resident of Brownwood and was known to all as “Bubba”. He, at one time, had been the manager of the Blue Cactus Restaurant, and then became a correctional officer at the Ron Jackson State School, where he later retired. Mr. Denton had also been the Pastor of the Gospel Lighthouse Church for over 20 years and was known and loved by many. Family was always very important to Bubba. He loved playing gospel and blues on his bass guitar and his favorite pastime was getting on his motorcycle and hitting the road.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children; Shana Bullard and husband Derek, of Brownwood, Michael Denton and Christina Mount, of Carrolton, William J. Denton of Granbury and Amberlyn Faldon and husband Joe, of Mulberry Arkansas. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Andrew Bullard and Maliah Bullard of Brownwood and Patience Denton of Granbury; sister, Caroline Callaway of Brownwood; and brother, Wes Denton and wife Christy, of Santa Anna as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Bill “Red” Denton and Tobie Jo “MaMaw” Denton Gillett.
