Press Release – Brownwood City Hall and other City facilities will close Monday January 16 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Police and Fire Departments, along with other critical city services, will remain unaffected by the closure.
The following services and facilities will operate on a holiday schedule:
- Solid Waste Collections: Residents with curbside garbage collection please have your blue or green cart placed curbside by 7 a.m. on your designated days:
There will be NO collection on Monday January 16, 2017
- Monday’s collection will take place on Tuesday January 17.
- Tuesday’s collection will take place on Wednesday January 18.
- Thursday and Friday’s collection will be back to regular schedule.

- Utilities: Emergency services are available for water and sewer needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. After hours emergency water line breaks and wastewater backup calls can be made to Police Dispatch at 325-646-6000.
- Landfill and Recycling Center will close Monday January 16. Questions concerning the landfill can be addressed by calling 325-646-6574.
