Lynn W. Shaw, age 81, of Brownwood passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Oak Ridge Manor. She was born July 17, 1929, in Rotan, Texas the daughter of the late Carl C. Wilson and Lena May Durham Wilson. She grew up in Levelland, Texas where she graduated from Levelland High School. She later graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. She was married to Maurice B. Shaw in Levelland on March 21, 1948. Following her retirement, she moved back to Brownwood where she had resided since 2001. She had been active in the Brownwood Women’s Club, the Friends of Rotary, numerous charities, and she loved to play bridge with her friends. She attended Coggin Avenue Baptist Church in Brownwood.
She is survived by her daughter Shea Lynn Nabi and husband Hosni of Rockwall, son Hal Shaw and wife Kay of Brownwood; 5 Grandchildren – Kelly Roush and husband Garrett of Moyie Springs, Idaho, Lynn Nabi and wife Gretchen of Jacksonville, TX, Wade Nabi and wife Lark of Cedar Park, TX, Scott Findley and wife Paula of Abilene, TX, Mandy Hunter and husband Mark of Weatherford, TX; 9 Great Grandchildren – Anna Roush Of Idaho, Matthew and McKenzie Nabi of Jacksonville, Kyleigh, Will, and Morgan Nabi of Cedar Park, Addy and Bethy Findley of Abilene, Clayton Hunter of Weatherford; and a niece and two nephews. Her body will be cremated under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church in Brownwood, or to Coggin Avenue Baptist Church in Brownwood.
