DurhamMartha Ann Letbetter Linebarger Durham was born in Austin, TX on December 24, 1940 and passed away October 22, 2015 in San Marcos, TX.

Martha Ann grew up in Georgetown, TX and played many sports with her sister and the Hanks brothers.  She played piano and clarinet and was an excellent twirler.  The family moved to Brownwood and then to Corpus Christi, TX where she went to High School.  She played clarinet at Ray High School and the band won Allstate.  As the band leader she led the band across the Harbor Bridge in Corpus Christi when it was first opened.  Martha Ann loved and excelled in many sports including whitewater rafting, tennis, basketball, bowling, roller skating and fishing.  She graduated from Del Mar College where she attended on a full band scholarship.  There she played on the first women’s basketball team Del Mar had.  They did not lose a game.

Martha Ann was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Masons Rainbows where she achieved the highest honor of Grand Worthy Adviser.  She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.  She  was well known for entering and winning Turkey Shoots at Dean’s Store.

Martha Ann married Roger Dale Linebarger.  They lived in San Antonio where they had three children who she loved very much.  After she divorced she moved back to Corpus Christi to be closer to her parents.  In Corpus Christi she worked at MBank where she became Vice President of Merchant Services.  She later worked at the Corpus Christi Greyhound Race Track where she became a head mutual teller.

Martha Ann loved reading and watching all sports games on T.V.  She loved her family most of all and would do anything she could for her children and grandchildren.  She always had an “open door” policy and had many friends that became family.
