Marjory LaNell “Ma” Tharp, age 88, of Early died Sunday in the Abilene Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 22, at the House of Wheels in Brownwood, 220 North Main, from 3 – 6 PM with an evening motorcycle ride at 7 PM. Her body was cremated under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
She was born February 20, 1925 in Tulia, Texas the daughter of the late Homer and Alba Boyd Shaw. She was married to James W. Tharp in Van Horn and he preceded her in death on May 1, 1989. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years and was a member of St. John’s Church in Brownwood. She had lived in Brownwood since the late 1950’s moving from Abilene.
She is survived by her son, Patrick Tharp and wife Jennifer of Early
