Marjorie (Grandma) Jeffery, age 95 of Brownwood passed away at her home on Tuesday May 31, 2011.
She was born on June 27, 1915 in Garland, Texas, the daughter of the late Joseph Robert and Daisy Halbert. She grew up in the Sap Oak community. Marjorie married A.C. (Jeff) Jeffery on November 25, 1965 in Odessa. She was formerly of Odessa living in Brown County since 1980.
She loved watching the birds from her window and seeing the ducks at Riverside Park. Marjorie enjoyed car rides, especially going for cheeseburgers and Coke.
She always ask “ how are the kids doing?” She found great joy in watching her great granddaughter Deja, play and grow. Grandma was interested in her great-granddaughter Hillary’s school and summer activities.
She is survived by Jeremy and Sheila Evans of Brownwood, special great-granddaughter Deja Martin and Hillary Croft both of Brownwood, her caregivers Sue Slaughter of Blanket and Delphine Williams of Bangs.
She is also survived by a sister Maxine Roy and a brother Glen Halbert, both of Dallas. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a son James Robert, two brothers and six sisters.
A private farewell was held at her home as she requested. A special thanks is given to Solaris Hospice for her care.
