Marion Betty Barnhart Kirbo Carter was known as ” Gambo” by her family and friends. Born in Kiefer, Ok on January 9, 1920, she departed this life March 14 2017, in her home, surrounded by her children, to enter the joys of heaven, a prepared place for a prepared people.

At the age of 21 she married evangelist Fred D Kirbo and to this family were born Darryl, Susie and Larry.  In 1959 the family moved to central Texas and Fred Kirbo continued in the ministry until his untimely death in 1968. Marion was his staunch supporter and a wonderful home-maker and mother.  Her children were blessed for having her consistent good example and unwavering Christian character.

In 1996 she married Richard Carter of Tucson AZ who brought companionship and happiness til his death in 2006.

Surviving her is son Darryl and wife Donna Kirbo and grandson Derek and wife Stephanie Kirbo, and great grandchildren  Kindry and Weston of Brownwood. Also grandson Daren and wife Renee Kirbo and great grandchildren Emily and Ben of Stephenville and grandson Demijon and wife Donna Jill Kirbo of Brownwood and great grandchildren Demi Caroline and Jon of Lubbock.

Daughter, Susie and husband Bruce Stewart and grandchildren Celty Kearney and husband Wes Kearney and great grandchildren Canyon and Cashlyn Kearney of Brownwood. Also granddaughter Kelany Stewart and husband Joel Einhorn and great granddaughter Ivy Einhorn of Los Angeles CA.

Son Larry kirbo and wife Joan and grandson Nicholas and wife Monique and great grandchildren Gabriel and Henry. Also granddaughter Caitlin, all of Austin TX.

Also son George Carter and wife Jennifer and grandchildren Nathan and BellaRose of Brownwood.

Also Daughter Debbie Patrick and husband Craig of Tucson AZ and grandson Chad Patrick and wife Karen and great grandchildren Collin, Reese and Lauryn of San Diego CA.

Also granddaughter Rachel and husband Loren Dirks and great grandchildren Sadie, Carter, Cooper and Sheperd of Tucson AZ.

Funeral service will be held at 10AM Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Mullin.
