Marilyn Joyce McCarrell (LaBar) died unexpectedly in her home on January 30, 2015, in Brownwood, Texas, at the age of 64.
Marilyn Joyce McCarrell is survived by her children, Richard Kevin McCarrell, Christopher Jason McCarrell; daughter-in-law, Susannah McCarrell, of Brownwood; and grandson, Corbin Patrick McCarrell, of Brownwood. She is preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Louise Foss; father, Robert LaBar; brothers, Robert LaBar, Jr. and Eugene Herbert LaBar.
Marilyn Joyce McCarrell was born on February 3, 1950, in Georgetown, Texas, to Evelyn Foss and Robert LaBar. She graduated from Round Rock High School in 1968. Marilyn joined the United States Navy in 1970, as a nurse. She married Weldon James McCarrell, a United States Marine in 1973. After moving to White Settlement, Texas, she began her career working as a licensed nurse.
Marilyn was a generous individual who loved nursing and was a passionate about changing the world. She was an active and dedicated member of the Lake Brownwood First United Methodist Church.Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015, at 12:00 pm, at the Lake Brownwood First United Methodist Church, with Tim Boeglin officiating. Services are under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home. The family will have a reception for friends and family following the memorial service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marilyn’s life.
