Marguerite C. Wilson, age 97, of Brownwood passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Oak Ridge Manor.
Marguerite was born in Hillsboro, Texas on June 18, 1916 to Francis Earl and Zoe Amanda (Taylor) Christian. She was educated in the Hillsboro City Schools and the University of Texas in Austin. She married Robert “Bob” Wilson on September 6, 1942. She worked her entire career as a Civil Service employee of the Texas and US Governments, in Washington DC, Hillsboro, Waco, and Dallas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brownwood. She and Bob retired in Center, Texas, but later moved to Brownwood to be near their children.
Marguerite was preceded by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Bob Wilson; two sons, David Allan Wilson and Robert Mitch Wilson.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances Goodwin and husband Garland of Columbus, NC; and son, Terry Wilson and wife Nancy of Brownwood; grandchildren: Thomas Goodwin and wife Judy of Asheville, NC, Sharon Koontz and husband Keith of Virginia Beach, VA, Terianne Ballard and husband Russell of Pineville, LA, Chris Wilson of Alexandria, LA, and Heidi Deen and husband Dustin of San Antonio, TX; great-grandchildren: Carol Ann Robertson, Cody Ballard, Taylor Koontz, Austin Koontz, Christian Wilson, Natalie Wilson, Preston Deen, Ryann Deen, and great-great-granddaughter Corinna Robertson.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Private Graveside Services for Marguerite will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.
