Margarita Diaz went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2013, at the Oak Ridge Manor. Margarita was born in Whon, Texas on January 28, 1927, to Juan Perez and Teresa Rodriguez Perez. She resided in Brownwood her whole life.
Margarita was married to the late Olegario Guy Diaz, Sr. Her children included Cruz Contreras and wife Gina of Brownwood, TX, Phillip Contreras and wife Rachel of Brownwood, TX, Isabell Contreras and wife Lucinda of Ft. Worth, TX, Ora Martinez and husband John of Fort Worth, TX , Alice Bastardo and husband Pete of Brownwood, TX, Willie Diaz and wife Lilly of Bangs TX, Daniel Diaz and wife Doris of Brownwood, TX, Reynoldo Diaz and wife Alice; stepsons include Guy Diaz Jr. and wife Frances of Bangs, TX, Lorenzo Diaz of Ft. Collins, Colorodo. Margarita had 38 grandchildren and various great-grandchildren and great great -grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Fida Perez and husband Julian of Haltom City,Tx, Teresa Garcia and husband Chon of Mesquite, TX, and Lola Rivera of Dallas, TX.
Margarita was a homemaker and a loving mother. She enjoyed her children, great-grandchildren, and great great- grandchildren.
Margarita was a devout Christian and a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Her favorite saying was “Dios Te Bendiga”, “God Bless You”.
Pallbearers for the service are her loving grandsons, Paul Contreras, Pete Bastardo Jr., Phillip Contreras Jr., Isabel Contreras Jr., John Martinez Jr., Daniel Diaz Jr., Juan Santos Diaz, and Ray Diaz Jr.
The Funeral Mass for Margarita Diaz will be held Wednesday March 13, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The visitation will be held from 6-9 PM, with the Rosary beginning at 7PM on Tuesday at Davis Morris Funeral Home, 800 Center Avenue, Brownwood, Texas.
