Marden “Luke” Clements passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 in Ohio after a long battle with emphysema.
He was born in Brownwood, Texas, on Jan. 22, 1931 to Meredith and Christine Clements. He was a 1949 graduate of Brownwood High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was married to Charlcie J. Morrison in 1952 and they had two sons. They divorced in 1963. He worked for Trans-Texas Airline as station manager in Brownwood, Austin and then in El Paso, where he delivered rattlesnakes to the set of the movie “Giant.”
Luke was married to Martha Allen in 1976. He retired from Dillard’s Department Store in El Paso in 1993 and moved to Ohio, where he lived until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Martha;two sons, Terry and wife Diana
of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Scott and wife Kari of Durango, Colo.; five grandchildren; two step-sons; one step-granddaughter; one step-great-grandson; three brothers, Carveth and wife Carol, Don and wife Janice, all of Brownwood, and Jerry and wife Diana of Manteca, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, a nephew and a step-son.
He was cremated and a memorial service will be held in Ohio at a later date.
