Marcus Fidencio Mares, 61, of Brownwood passed away on March 8, 2020.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Heartland Funeral Home and the
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.
Marcus was born to Jose Maria and Maria Ampallo Mares in San Carlos, Mexico on October 7, 1958. He was raised in Brownwood and graduated from Brownwood High School. Marcus married Lupy Villapondo in June of 1978 and they began a life together that blessed them with a son. Marcos served in the US Marines for 7 years. He worked for WL Plastics manufacturing products for the pipeline. Marcus was a Christian man and enjoyed God’s green earth fishing. He was always smiling and telling people about the Lord. He loved his Lord and Savior. Marcus was a good husband, father and grandfather who was always willing to help.
Marcus is survived by his beloved wife, Lupy Mares of Brownwood; son, Danniel Mares of Brownwood; grandson Danniel Mares Jr. of Brownwood; step mother, Sylvia Mares of Brownwood; brothers, Gino Mares of Colima, Mexico, Joe Mares of Fort Worth; sisters, Lydia Rogers of South Carolina, Andrea Carroll of Clifton, Maria Lang of Florence Kentucky; His loving in-law family, Gonzalo, Ricky, Roy, Charlie, Robert and Gary Villapando, Margie Cooke, Debbie Danke and their loving spouses; His closest furry companions, Smokie and Ginger; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marcus was preceded in death by his parents.
