Texas State Comptroller Glenn Hegar released sales tax allocation numbers for March which showed a decrease in sales tax collections in Brown County cities with the exception of Brownwood which saw a small increase.
The growth in allocations for Brownwood continued in the positive for the year to date numbers as well. Cities of Early, Bangs and Blanket slipped slightly this month as compared to March of 2015. Brownwood received a slight increase of 3.75% in March’s allocation. Early, Bangs and Blanket had decreased allocations of -58.12%, -4.03% and -8.01% respectively.
Hegar said that sales allocations for the state in March were $585.6 million, down 0.7 percent compared to March 2015.
The sales tax figures are based on sales made in January by businesses that report tax monthly.Net Payment This Period |
