A man escaped injury Tuesday afternoon after a one-vehicle accident in the 700 block of West Commerce.
Initial reports indicate that the vehicle lost control as it was travelling west on the street, jumped the curb and hit a utility pole. The Nissan Frontier then landed on the edge of a creek bed, resting on its side.
No injuries were reported; however a utility pole was broken off resulting in lines lying on the ground and being stuck in a tree. These lines were later determined to be old Brownwood TV Cable lines which are now inactive.
Officers on the scene reported that the wet roads, due to a brief shower in the area, probably contributed to the accident.
