Residents of a home south of Brownwood woke to find an oak tree broken in half, several puddles of blood in their driveway and car parts scattered nearby Friday morning. They knew a horrible accident had occurred but were left wondering with no answers. Their home sits off of the roadway and they did not hear the accident or noise of emergency responders.
According to law enforcement officials, a one-vehicle rollover accident occurred on FM 45, approximately 5 miles south of the National Guard Armory in Brownwood, shortly after 12:00 midnight involving a Cadillac SUV.During the accident, the driver was ejected and air lifted to a hospital according to law enforcement officials.
Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident, but no cause was available as of Friday morning, nor was the condition of the driver involved.
The neighbor who found evidence of the accident later confirmed that the driver was a neighbor that lived in the area and that he was reported to have survived the accident but was hospitalized for treatment of his injuries (the extent of which was unknown as of late Friday morning).
Texas Department of Public Safety, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, and Guardian EMS responded to the scene of the accident.
