Brownwood News – The Department of Public Safety has released additional information concerning a deadly wreck in Coleman County.
The wreck happened at 9:36 am Saturday, December 28, on U.S. Highway 84, between Novice and Goldsboro in northwest Coleman County. The crash is under investigation. Road conditions were described as rain with standing water.
Deceased in the accident was Guy Garrett McMillan, 32, of Austin. McMillan was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion and was traveling south. A 2007 Nissan Altima, driven by Hannah Marie McKendrick, 22, of Boerne, was traveling north. Both vehicles were in their respective left lanes. According to the preliminary DPS crash report, the driver of the Altima lost traction on the wet roadway and crossed into the southbound lane crashing into McMillan’s vehicle. McKendrick was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene with stable/incapacitating injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Funeral services for Guy McMillan will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 31, at Oldham Lane Church of Christ in Abilene with Larry Sullivan of Baker Heights Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Potosi Cemetery. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, in Abilene.
