Texas Rangers arrested 37-year-old Michael Joseph Bien, of Pecos, TX, for Solicitation of Capital Murder on Friday.
According to a probable cause affidavit, in April of 2012, Texas Rangers received information regarding Bien attempting to locate a person for the purpose of murdering an individual. Bien was arrested a short time later on other charges and incarcerated in Reeves County for several months.
The affidavit states that after being released, Bien immediately contacted an individual for the purpose of hiring a hit man to commit the murder of Koh Box.
On Friday, Bien meet with an undercover police officer of the Texas Department of Public Safety in the 400 block of W. Commerce in Brownwood, the document states. Bien subsequently paid the officer money for the purpose of murdering Koh Box, according to the affidavit.
Bien was charged with Solicitation of Capital Murder and is being held in the Brown County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
