Shortly after 10:00pm, a vehicle collided with a tree on Elizabeth, resulting in one man being airlifted to the hospital.

Emergency crews were called to the 2600 block of Elizabeth at approximately 10:10pm, after a Chevy pickup struck a tree, partially ejecting the driver through the driver’s side window, according to emergency responders.  The man was extricated from the vehicle and then transported to a parking lot at Brownwood High School where the ambulance met Air Evac Lifeteam for transport to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

The condition of the driver was unavailable at the time of the accident. The cause of the accident was unknown; however police on scene estimate that the driver was going around 60 mph based on the damage to the vehicle.

No other information was available at the scene.

Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood Fire Department, Guardian EMS responded to the scene of the accident.
