Update – 4pm Monday, Aug 6 – Tragedy struck Saturday night when a Brownwood man fell at a concert, later ending in his death, according to BigCountryHomepage.com.

Witnesses say 67-year-old Ronald Gene Arnold was attending the “Hank Williams Remembered” concert at the Brownwood Coliseum.  As Arnold was proceeding up the stairs, he fell, hitting his head.

Arnold was immediately flown by helicopter to a hospital for treatment.

Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman confirmed Arnold died sometime Sunday at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. Services for Arnold are pending.

Original Story – One man was airlifted Saturday night after a fall at the Brownwood Coliseum.

Emergency responders were called to the coliseum just before 8pm with the report of a person who fell in the upper seating area of the building and sustained a head injury.

Responders requested air transport for the man and set up a landing zone for the AirEvac Lifeteam helicopter in the empty parking lot at the corner of Austin Avenue and Coggin.

The man was air transported for treatment.  He was attending an event being held at the coliseum Saturday night.  No other information was available Saturday night.
