Maggie Reana Johnson, age 94, left Oak Ridge Manor on Monday, January 25, 2010 to go to her heavenly home to join her husband and family.
She was born the daughter of Emma Dee Sides Calder and Ransom Calder in Winchell on September 7, 1915. She married C. I. Johnson on September 8, 1933 in San Angelo, Texas. She had been a longtime member of the Primitive Baptist Church for over 60 years and was known to have always been faithful to attend for as long as she was able.
She was a collector of ceramic kittens, shells, and rocks and she liked to sew and quilt. She traveled with her husband when he worked out of town and rode the truck with him when he was working here at home.
She is survived by three sons, Gerald Johnson and wife Patsy of Early, Gene Johnson and wife Glenda of Joshua, and Johnnie Johnson and wife Mildred of Everman.
A daughter, Louise Singleton and husband Harvey of Everman.
Nine Grandchildren, Seventeen Great Grandchildren, and Nine Great-Great Grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.
She is also survived by her loving church family from the Brownwood Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be conducted by Elders Vance Rodgers and David McKamey at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 28, at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
