FullerTrue humility is not thinking of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less by C.S. Lewis. No truer words spoken that could describe the life of my mother. She was the grandest lady, who lived her life by helping others with selflessness, kindness, and seeking no reward.

MaeBelle Carriger Fuller died March 18, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. She went to meet her heavenly Father and to be reunited with her parents and husband. Visitation will be for friends and family Friday, March 20, 2015 from 6-8PM at Heartland Funeral Home Early, Texas. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Eastlawn Memorial Park Early, Texas

She was the first daughter born to Della and Joe Carriger on May 10, 1927 in Lawn, Texas. She lived a life of a gypsy moving to several locations in Texas as well as many of the southern dry states due to the health of her brother Johnny. This lifestyle was great training for her and helped her in years to come as the wife of a school teacher and administrator. Her family established roots in Brownwood in 1932 when she lost her brother and playmate Johnny.

She worked throughout the war in numerous jobs to help her family through the rough times with a smile on her face and pride in the sacrifice this nation was making for the war effort.  At war’s end she met the man she would marry Albert L. Fuller who was recently home from the European theatre and in the same Army unit as her brother James. She married Albert on March 8, 1946. After a business venture with his father Albert decided to pursue a college career and enter the teaching profession. This union was blessed with two daughters and a son while Albert attended Howard Payne College.

Upon his graduation they started their life in Millersview, Texas where Albert entered his first year as a teacher. This career would have them traveling to numerous areas in Texas and as they moved she became his assistant in the school offices. She was known by many of the Texas Education Agency as the best school financial officer in the state. Never was an audit performed that the auditing officer was not amazed that a woman without a high school education could keep such files, books and reports so good. This career was always an unpaid position so she could help Albert through his day and be involved in her children’s lives. Upon retirement they settled in Brownwood to be near their parents and family. At this time she entered the workforce at Sidran Manufacturing so she could create her retirement benefits. She worked there for 20 years and gladly accepted her retirement. She spent her time with her children and grandchildren making memories with them that they will cherish for the rest of their lives.
Maebelle is survived by her daughter Patsy Fuller Meyer and husband Robert, a son Albert Fuller and wife Lorena and daughter Nancy Fuller Jackson and husband Joe. She is survived by eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren, with one due in August, and one sister Judy Flippin. She is preceded in death by her parents Della and Joe Carriger, brothers; James, Johnny and Don, and her husband Albert.
