After suffering a broken ankle, Doug returned to Brownwood where he was employed by 3M Company for thirty-six years. He continued to play semi-pro baseball and spent fifteen years play fast-pitch softball where he cultivated numerous relationships across the state of Texas. Doug dedicated some twenty-five years to the Brownwood community coaching his three sons in summer league baseball. He mentored numerous kids thru the years and many in the community respected Doug’s skills to teach young kids life lessons and to become a winner on and off the field.

Upon retirement from 3M Company, Doug loved spending his Saturday afternoons at Kyle Field watching son Chance play for the Fightin’ Texas Aggies. He developed an immense passion for his pets and the growth of his Grand-kids. Peter, Paul, and Chance would like to give a special thanks to Sandi Pearce for her countless hours of spending time and taking incredible care of Dad.
