Funeral services for Lula Garner, age 72, of Comanche, Texas will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Garner passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 at Hendricks Medical Center in Abilene.
Lula Belle was born on February 20, 1943 in Whitesboro, Texas to Thomas Jefferson and Lula Evelee Stewart Parsley. On August 11, 1964, she married Jerry Garner in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Garner had been a resident of Comanche for the past thirteen years and had previously lived in Combine, Texas.
Survivors include her husband Jerry Garner of Comanche; her children Christine King and husband Gary of Lake Brownwood, Timothy Kres Valdez and wife Melinda of Pell City, Alabama, Terisa Pauline Diaz of Comanche, Jerri Katherine Garner of Comanche, Victoria Cunningham and husband Greg of Cedar Creek, Texas; one brother Lloyd Parsley of Pell City and by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Nola Parsley and a son-in-law Manuel Diaz.
