U.S. Congressman Mike Conaway presented Luke Broussard with his “Certificate of Nomination” to the military academies in ceremonies held Thursday afternoon, February 13, 2014 at Early High School. Broussard was nominated by Conaway for his outstanding service to the community, his activities in school and academic work.
Broussard, a senior at Early High School, is currently serving as Key Club District Governor for Texas-Oklahoma District, made up of 300 clubs in both states; as co-drum major of the Early High School Band; plays in the Early High School Jazz band; President of his student body; and plays on the Varsity Tennis team.
He has over 1,000 hours of community service; a member of the National Model Railroad Association, Lone Star Division; the Pecan Valley Genealogical Society; the Brown County Historical Society; and the Brown County Historical Commission.
Last year he received the Gold Star Award from the Abilene Reporter News.
His parents are Lance and Joey Broussard of Early, Texas.
