Lucille McClead, age 95, of Brownwood, passed away on October 14, 2018 at a care center in Lubbock.

Lucille was born on August 7, 1923 in Prue, Oklahoma to parents Adam Hensley and Mary Molder Hensley. Lucille married John V. McClead on August 21, 1941 in Odessa.  They made their home in Seminole for 40 years.  They subsequently moved to Lake Brownwood to enjoy their retirement. Lucille was a homemaker and caretaker.  She was active in her church and was a wonderful cook.  She loved to prepare meals for her family and her church family.

She is survived by her daughter Diana and husband Kenneth Condon, granddaughter Mandy Satterwhite, and grandsons Clint McClead and Tye McClead and several great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband John McClead, son Charles McClead, her parents, four brothers; Orville Hensley, Elbert Eugene Hensley, Hubert Theron Hensley and John Newton Hensley, two sisters; Opal Lameta Lamn and Beatrice Ella Aylor.

The family is grateful to niece Sharon Miller for her loving care and companionship with Lucille in her later years, as well as to Bender Terrace in Lubbock for their care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Church of your choice, the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org), or to Interim Healthcare Hospice (Lubbock).

A visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Heartland Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be held at 10am Thursday October 18, 2018 at Heartland Funeral Chapel, 303 Early Blvd, Early, Texas 76802, with Pastor Rick Justice officiating. Interment will be at Rocky Creek Cemetery, Lake Brownwood.
