HudsonCoyLoy McCoy (Coy) Hudson of Early, Texas died Wednesday April 23 at his residence.

Coy was born December 24, 1937 in Midland, Texas to Vernon Glenn and Aline Hudson. He attended elementary school and junior high school in Midland and graduated from Pecos High School in 1956. He attended Texas Western College and served in the United States Navy.

Coy married Marthana Cearley on August 6, 1960 in Pecos Texas.

He was employed with the National Auto Parts Association in Pecos and Early,Texas for 40 years, retiring in 2002.

Coy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Early, He had previously been a member of First Baptist Church of Pecos where he served as a Deacon. He was also a Thirty Second Degree Master Mason, a Shriner, a member of the Scottish Rite and a Past Patron Pecos Chapter number 81 Order Of The Eastern Star and Pecos Downtown Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Marthana, two sons, John Glenn Hudson and wife Brenda of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Coy Brendan Hudson and Wife Rebecca of Pflugerville, Texas. Four Grandchildren, Whitney Cheryl Hudson of San Antonio Texas, Garrett Ransom Hudson and Brenna Leigh Hudson of Pflugerville, Texas and Ian Thomas Hudson of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Coy is also survived by members of the Cearley family; his brother and sister-in-law, John Allen and Janie Cearley of Liberty Hill, Texas and their wonderful children. His wife’s cousins all loved him as he loved them. He spent many happy days with them and always enjoyed seeing them at the Cearley gatherings.

Pallbearers will be:  John Allen Cearley Jr., Nathan Cearley, Garrett Ransom Hudson, Cleve Williams, Joe Legarda and Dennis Moseley.

Visitation for Coy will be April 25 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 PM and services will be April 26 at 2:00 pm. Both will be held at Heartland Funeral Home located at 303 Early Blvd, Early, Texas 76802 (325)646-9424.

Coy will be laid to rest at 2 pm at Terrace Cemetery in Post, Texas on April 27 with visitation from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Hudman Funeral Home located at 615 w Main Street, Post, Texas 79356 (806)495-2821.

Coy was like a tall tree in the forest. He was our strength and shelter. We all loved him and leaned on him. He will be missed by his family, extended family and his many friends. He was our joy and consolation. We give him back to you, Oh Lord, though our hearts are filled with sorrow.
