Funeral Services for Loris Jackson, age 90, of Brownwood, will be held Saturday June 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Brown County with Don Scroggs officiating, interment to follow at Locker Cemetery in Locker, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home; she passed away Tuesday June 14, 2011 in Brownwood, Texas.
Loris Maxcey Jackson was born in Locker, Texas on September 18, 1920 to the late H.R. and Roberta Skelton Maxcey. She attended Locker and Richland Springs schools, and after San Antonio Business College began a career in credit. She was associated with Dun and Bradstreet, Inc. San Antonio, TX and Little Rock Wholesale Credit, Little Rock, AK and was retired from Montgomery Ward Credit and Customer Service Center in Brownwood where the family has lived since 1959.She was married to Ralph C. Jackson in Taos, NM on August 06, 1941. She was a loving homemaker to him and their two children. He preceded her in death September 02, 2000; also preceded in death was an infant daughter Jan, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maxcey, a sister Irene Nettleship and her husband C.R. and their son, Clyde Maxcey. Also , 2 brothers J.W. Maxcey and wife Pauline and their son, Mac Danner , a brother H.R. Maxcey Jr. and a niece Peggy Boeke .
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, The Peggy Boone Bible Class, The United Methodist Women, and chaired a committee on the administrative council. She was Past Matron of Chapter 546 Order of the Eastern Star of Arkansas.
She is survived by a daughter; Jill Landon and her husband Marvin of Hidden Hills, CA; a son, Ralph C. Jackson Jr. and his wife Judy of Big Bear, CA; a step daughter Carol Archer and her husband, Tom of Tucson, AZ. 4 grandchildren; Bliss and her husband Dr. Kirk Wendleburg of Hidden Hills, CA. Hayden Landon and his wife Valerie of Calabasas, CA. Wes Jackson and his wife Corie of Kyle, TX. And Brit Jackson and his wife Sarah of Rodondo Beach, CA. and 8 great-grandchildren; also two sister-in-laws; Jeanne Arnold of Andrew, TX and Juanita Jackson of Kermit, TX.
