Lorene McMullen, age 88, of Austin passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 in Austin. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00am, Wednesday December 15, 2010 in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Indian Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests for a short visitation prior to the services.
Lorene McMullen was born December 28, 1921 in Indian Creek, Texas, to G.D. and Norma McMullen. She graduated from Indian Creek High School, and was valedictorian of her senior class. Lorene attended Daniel Baker College. Lorene also taught Sunday school. She was a resident of Austin for more than 60 years. Lorene was a resident of Oakcrest Manor Nursing Home in Austin.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents G.D. and Norma McMullen, three sisters; Mamie Hinsley, Naomi Sikes, and Ruby Hinsley, and her sister-in-law Rachel McMullen.
Lorene is survived by her brother Marvin McMullen and several nieces and nephews.
