Lonnie Ray Gamblin, 57, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019.  A visitation will be Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 6–8 PM at Heartland and the Funeral service will be Thursday morning, 10:00 AM June 20, 2019 in the Heartland Funeral Chapel with interment at the Cowboy cemetery, McCulloch county with Michael Paz officiating.

Lonnie was born August 15, 1961 in Brownwood, Texas.  He was raised by his parents, Billy and Peggy Gamblin in Bangs, TX.  Lonnie graduated from Bangs High School and spent most of his life in the Bangs, Brownwood area.  He married Jimmie Carol Platter on June 7, 2009 and united two families that brought him joy.  Lonnie owned Lonnie’s Body Shop in Bangs, TX and did what he loved, body work on all vehicles.  Lonnie had his boys help him in the shop, instilling a good work ethic in his sons.  When Lonnie was young he was fearless.  He enjoyed being an umpire at little league games, kickboxing, riding motorcycles and bull riding.  Although he was always adventurous, his later years involved more playing with the grandkids, reading the Bible and cutting up with his family.  He loved to have a good time, laugh and spend time with family and friends.

Lonnie is survived by his beloved wife, Jimmie Carol Gamblin of Brownwood, TX; sons, Dustin Edward Gamblin of Coleman, TX, Locke Ray and wife Emily Gamblin of Nashville, TN; father, Billy Edward Gamblin and Mother Peggy Gayle Gamblin of Bangs, TX; brother, Ricky and wife Re’Genna Gamblin of Bangs and Billy and wife Kelly Gamblin of Jonestown; sister, Bunny Keeney of Bangs; step-sons, Mark and wife Amanda Paz of San Marcos, Michael and wife Mary Rose Paz of Helotes, Matthew and wife Mitsy Paz of Brookesmith; 2 grandchildren, Kamden Gamblin of Early and Texana Rose Paz of Helotes; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Finis and Irma Gamblin, Joe and Ima Gene Garmon.
