Lois Kay Bucsko went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 9, 2017. She passed away at home following a lengthy illness. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 15, 2017 at High Mesa Cowboy Church, 1100 High Mesa Drive, Brownwood. Condolences can be offered to the family online at heartlandfuneralhome.net.
Lois was born on June 16, 1950 in Whiting, Indiana to James and Ruth Myers. She moved to Texas in 1977 and was truly a “transplanted Texan.” She loved everything here, the 100 degree days and especially the Dallas Cowboys. Any game day you would find her watching her Cowboys with her glass of Pepsi.
Lois was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She really enjoyed watching them participate in their sporting activities. She tried to never miss a game or competition.
Lois had many hobbies. She loved to work outside and she always had a beautiful yard. She loved crafting and was an excellent cook. Especially at Christmas, she loved to bake and share with friends.
Lois had worked as a phlebotomist in this area for many years. In the past years she had worked at Brownwood Regional Medical Center and for Labcorp. For the last ten plus years, she had worked for Drs. Sarah Chandler and Chris Stephens at the Brownwood Clinic. She always enjoyed her job and loved her patients.
Lois is survived by a son, Michael Pittman and his fiancé, Mandy Carmack, both of Brownwood; a daughter, Brandi Sliger and her husband Acey, also both of Brownwood; sisters, Judy Clments of Bruceton, TN and Joni Sanchez of Munster, IN, Garnett Myers of Whiting, IN and a brother, Charles Myers of Crown Point, IN, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, James Myers and Ruth Hastings and three brothers, Gilbert Ice, Phillip Hastings and Ricky Hastings.
Lois had many friends who will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
